Heritage Restoration

Applications for large-scale restoration or renovation of synagogues in Europe must demonstrate that there is a viable Jewish community who is using the synagogue regularly and are willing to take responsibility for its on-going maintenance. The Rothschild Foundation Europe is unlikely to cover more than 30% of any building works, and so your application will need to demonstrate confirmed funding that will ensure the completion of the project.

In this round, the Foundation will be offering grants for small urgent repairs to synagogues that are regularly used by a community.

The Foundation will consider applications for cemetery preservation and documentation.
