The Foundation provides philanthropic support to facilitate three essential aspects of this field: surveying Jewish heritage in Europe (buildings, cemeteries, archives, art works), devising ways in which that heritage can be preserved, developed, exhibited and used for educational and communal purposes, and researching its current and potential impact on Jewish life. The Foundation encourages priority-setting, co-operation and best practice among bodies involved in this field today. Our grant programmes are designed to strengthen and enrich institutions with significant collections and holdings of Jewish cultural heritage materials, including art and ethnographic objects, print as well as audio and video archives.
