Europe has experienced a welcome growth in Jewish cultural activity such as art, literature, theatre, music, film and photography. The Rothschild Foundation (Europe) aims to facilitate and encourage Jewish cultural creativity by helping to raise standards of cultural production, foster forums in which producers of culture can meet and bring their work to a wider audience. While spontaneity and individual initiative are vital in this area, the Foundation also recognises that there is an important place for the helping hand of philanthropy. Support is available for cultural events that serve as a community-building tool; the creation of cultural productions; cultural exchange and co-operation between Jewish and non-Jewish institutions and across national boundaries of European countries.
